Loam & Lore is a small family run business that aims to enhance the world with great products that don’t harm the environment. The company currently has a line of phone cases made with wheat straw and bioplastics, as well as wheat straw travel mugs and fair trade organic tea gift sets.
PROBLEM
The original website was built on Wordpress and had become overrun with plugins and features which slowed performance and made the site unreliable. Sales had also slowed due to cart abandonment, and users did not fully understand the products features, which meant that the volume of emails and messages with basic questions had gone up significantly.
SOLUTION
Create a versatile brand that can grow and evolve with the business. The website was to be simple with bright accent colors and focus on photography. Home page layout and user interactions designed to streamline the add to cart process and checkout.
Improve click through rates by improving product photography. Reduce cart abandonment by making adjustments to the placement of shipping costs and delivery times so that customers understand costs before getting to checkout.
Increase customer engagement by adding personal notes into each product that is shipped out, and encouraging customers to share their experience on social media. Research the market and demographic further and enhance the descriptions of the products and provide the detail that customers were wanting. Set the business up for growth into new markets and additional product lines by moving to Shopify.
