ABOUT
Cerebral Palsy CYMRU is a charity based in Wales that offers services and resources for families with children suffering from cerebral palsy.
PROBLEM
The existing web presence was in need of a facelift, and the online charity donation process was not performing well. There was no integration between offline systems (CRM) and the website. Important information was difficult to find, or did not exist on the website.
Being a relatively small charity, there is no staff members who have knowledge or experience in website maintenance, or design or marketing. This makes it very difficult to maintain the website and keep it up to date while not detracting from the original brand aesthetic.
SOLUTION
After the new brand was created, we created a new website with the purpose of delivering wider content (knowledge and information), fundraising and support engagement to drive donor activity and supporter activities.
We took a very person-centered approach, supported through automated, simplified and effective technology that enables the charity to provide better services, share knowledge and raise funds.
I created a design aesthetic that establishes the new branding and created a look and feel that was personal, emotive, and informative. There was a fine balance between being too ‘flashy’ and creating an engaging and emotive experience.
The front end development of this project was modularized, so that components could be across this site, and other similar sites in the future.
This simplified development, and also made it easier for staff members to manage on the back end CMS side. I also developed the design in a way that allowed for non-experts to update the site with minimal knowledge.
